About these terms
Shortlisted ("we", "us", "our") runs getshortlisted.pro, an online service for building CVs and cover letters, matching you to jobs and preparing applications. By creating an account, or by using the service without one, you agree to these terms.
Shortlisted is developed and run by Unique Evolution Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 14243073), whose registered office is in Plaistow, London E13 0RX. Find out more about us at uniqevo.co.uk.
Our privacy policy explains how we handle your personal data, and our cookie policy lists the cookies we use.
Your account
- You must be 16 or over to use Shortlisted.
- Give us accurate details when you register, and keep your email address up to date so account emails reach you.
- Keep your password safe. You are responsible for what happens in your account, so tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.
- One account is for one person. Please do not share it or sell access to it.
You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Our privacy policy explains what happens to your data when you do.
Plans and payments
You can use Shortlisted for free, with the limits shown on our pricing page. To unlock more, you can buy:

- Ends automatically after 7 days. It never renews and we never charge you again.
Pro

- Renews every month until you cancel. Cancel any time in your settings and you keep Pro until the end of the month you have paid for.
- Prices are shown before you pay and include any VAT or sales tax we must charge. They may be shown in your local currency.
- Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
- If we change the price of Pro, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to you, so you can cancel first if you wish.
- If a subscription payment fails, we will try again for a short time. If it still fails, your account moves back to the free plan and your CVs stay safe.
Cancelling and refunds
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU, you normally have 14 days to cancel a purchase of digital content or services. Because paid features start working the moment you pay, we ask you at checkout to agree that they start straight away, and to confirm you understand that you lose this right to cancel once you start using them.
We still want you to be happy. If something went wrong, such as a feature that did not work or a payment you did not mean to make, email hello@getshortlisted.pro within 14 days of paying and we will look at it fairly. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
Your content
Your CVs, cover letters, answers and anything else you add stay yours. You give us permission to store, process, format and display them only so we can run the service for you: to save your work, produce your PDFs and documents, power the AI features you use, and match you to jobs.
You are responsible for what you put on your CV. Please make sure it is true and that you have the right to share it. Employers rely on it, and misleading one can have real consequences for you.
AI features
Some features use AI to suggest wording, read a CV you import, tailor your CV to a job, write cover letters and run practice interviews. AI can make mistakes, so:
- Always check suggested content before you use it. You decide what goes on your CV.
- Do not use the AI to invent qualifications, jobs or experience you do not have.
- AI actions count towards the allowance on your plan. Unused actions do not carry over.
Job matches
We find jobs from other sources and score how well they match you and how likely you are to be shortlisted. The scores are our best estimate to help you prioritise, not a promise. We are not an employer or a recruitment agency, we do not control the jobs we show, and we cannot guarantee an interview or a job offer.
When you apply, you do so on the employer or job site, under their own terms.
Using Shortlisted fairly
Please do not:
- Break the law, or use the service to deceive or harm anyone.
- Upload content that is not yours to share, or that is offensive, harmful or infringes anyone's rights.
- Try to break, overload or get around the limits or security of the service.
- Scrape, copy or resell the service, our templates or our job data, or access it with automated tools.
- Create accounts in bulk or share one plan between several people.
If you do, we may suspend or close your account. Unless the law or safety requires otherwise, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond first.
Our content
The Shortlisted name, logo, website, templates and software belong to us. You may use our templates for your own CVs and cover letters, and send them to as many employers as you like, but not to build a competing product or to sell them.
Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Shortlisted running and your work safe, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of faults. We sometimes need to update, change or pause features. If a change takes away something you have paid for, we will tell you and offer a fair refund for the part you cannot use.
Please keep your own copy of important documents. You can download your CVs at any time.
Our responsibility to you
- We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.
- We are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for business losses, or for decisions employers make about your applications.
- Where the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
- Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit, and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Ending these terms
You can stop using Shortlisted and delete your account whenever you like. We may close an account that breaks these terms, as described above, or close the service altogether. If we close the service, we will give you at least 30 days' notice to download your documents, and refund any unused part of a pass or Pro month.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when the service or the law changes. The date at the top always shows the latest version. If a change matters to you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect, and if you do not agree you can cancel and delete your account.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you can also rely on the mandatory consumer protections where you live and bring a claim in your local courts.
