Not to start. You can build your CV and try every design straight away; it’s kept in your browser for up to 30 days. To save it for good or download it, create a free account: everything you’ve done comes with you. A free account downloads one CV in a free design (Classic, Ledger, Meridian, Studio or Portfolio); the 7-day pass or Pro downloads any CV in any design.

When you open Talk it through, your browser asks to use your microphone. Allow it and the interviewer says hello, then listens. Just talk; it waits until you’ve finished before replying, and you can talk over it at any time. You can always type instead.

It waits about three seconds after you stop, and longer if you trail off mid-sentence (“and…”, “um…”). If you carry on talking while it’s thinking, it stops and listens again. You can also press “I’m done, reply now” when you’ve finished.

Check your browser allowed the microphone: click the icon at the left of the address bar and allow it, then reload. If you use a privacy blocker, let it allow this site. You can always type your answers instead.

No. It only writes what you tell it. It turns your words into clear, professional bullet points, and it asks you for numbers rather than guessing them. Everything it writes appears on your CV straight away, so you can check it as you go.

Any time. Pick another of our templates or a different colour and your words move across exactly as they are. In a conversation you can simply say “use the green one”.

Yes. Your PDF is a real text document, not a picture, so applicant tracking systems can read every word. Classic and Ledger are the safest choices for large employers, the NHS and the Civil Service.

In Plan and billing. Choose Manage billing and invoices to download any of them.

Open Plan and billing, choose Manage billing and invoices, then Cancel subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you won’t be charged again.

No. It’s one payment for seven days, and then it simply ends. Your CVs stay saved and editable.

Sign in and open Settings, then choose Delete account. This removes your account and the CVs saved in it, and cancels Pro if you have it.
